Thinking about Education
Education has offered us new challenges at all times. Most of them have to do with different ways in which we could approach learning. I invite you to reflect on your views on education, performing the following tasks:

Hi everybody! Well, I've just seen all the videos and I know that I have to choose one so I choose the third, but I like the last too.I like the third because I like the comparison that it makes, I've never seen education like that, I mean I think is absolutely true what try to show us, we are the apple tree that grows slowly with the help of the education. We start learning basical things but when we are growing our education is bigger and bigger until we are ready to face our future,I mean realise that you are ready to do all the things you want to because you have the ability and the training for that. "IN THAT MOMENT THE APPLE FALLS DOWN, IS MATURE ENOUGH TO BE IN THE TREE".
ReplyDeleteI like the last video too because I am convinced that technology will be very usefull to learn in school, we can be comunicated with people from other countries like the video shows and we can learn more about their culture for example.
I expect that College gives me the enough education to train me to succeed in my future or have what I would like.

DeleteHi! I've just finished seeing all the videos and the ones that liked me the most are the second and the last one. Home school is something I think is great, It develops students abilities without leaving appart other things students must know. For example, If some student who is being home-schooled is good at art, he can specialize and develop his art-related skills, of course without setting appart other subjects like math or history. It's also great because it's the most individual and personalised class that I can imagine, so this helps students to know which is the best way of learning that works for them. But In my point of view I think it also has some problems, for example sometimes parents aren't strict enough or don't know enough about something. I believe it Home-school must be joined with any other social activity to be good. For example Home-School + Music school or sports or anything else that involves social interaction.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is about technology in the school, and as you may know, I'm a totaly fan of technology. In my oppinion It's great to include technology in school, just because it's WAY more entertaining than normal education, resumes, works and all those old stuff that people is using to teach since 1500. It would be great to reach a total multimedia learning experience, in which paper doesn't even exist. I think it's much easier for the student to keep thing organized in a digital format rather than in handwrited paper. And It also easier and nicier to learn via multimedia rather than books (which doesn't mean books should be gone, not al all). I can imagine a future in which the teacher says to the child to see a video and make a resume of it, and just flips it from his tablet to the students tablets. Or even a "videogame-classroom" in which student takes real 3D part in historic moments, or even acts like one of the participants in the historic moment. Imagine living the may revolution or to see San Martin crossing the Andes just like if you were there? Won't that be great? I hope to see that in 20 or maybe 10 years from now.
Anyway, there's still something that I don't like about the videos. In some parts of them I can see how everything is thought to be more productive, or to earn more money, or to keep on working, and that's not something that I would like to see in a few years from now. I think that's somehow the reason why now a days children aren't involved or interested in school. They are brought up thinking that school is something that they havo to do to earn money, and that takes away all the illusion of knowing just because of knowing, of knowing just because the world is amazing, not because of money. I think that amaze should be bring back to the children.
Steve Jobs gave a speech for Standford university in which he says that everything he learnt was useful even if he thought it was useless in the moment he was studying it, and many other things. I don't want to be misunderstood in the 3rd paragraph. Is not that I don't want to see people working or being productive (of course I want!!!) It's just that I don't want to see people only focusing on that, or leaving their families or friends for work. I mean.... I want people to keep on being people (This includes playing games, going out, hanging out with friend or family, etc.) not working robots that only can think about working. I think you get the idea. A free and relaxed working-world!

DeleteHello Guys, well the video that I really like was the second one, because it show us that home school kids can have a similar or even a better education than kids who go to private o normal schools, but the only disadvantage I think it have is that home school kids can't interact with others or they don't have much social relations.. but on the other hand it seems good to be educated by your parents because maybe you have more freedom to express yourself and home school kids parents are preparing them for the real world, for college and they are teaching them things that can make the kids have a good job in the future.

Valle, I agree whit you.. I think that guys at home can have a similiar education than kids who go to school, but I really think that the most important thing when we are childs is to make a lot of friends and for me the best way to have social relations is going to school.. I dont believe that childrens that are educated at home have the same social relations that the ones how go to school...

DeleteHi everybody, difinitely I really like the last video! I think that is very important the tecnology because we cant be in contact with people around the world and inform about all the news that are happening. In my school for example, we dont have a good tecnology so we can investigate new things and the class are boring. In another way, I think that the tecnology is coming one of the most important things in the world, so maybe in 10 years when we choose a job, we will have to know everything about tecnology.

ReplyDeleteI've just seen all the videos and I choose the third video "What is Blended Learning". For me, it will be the educational research in the future. This is an opportunity to really change the education. For me, it is very important because blended learning is something that is used in the world of education as well as the world of business. But I often hear that teachers do not know use its technology I seem that first have that learn to teachers, like in the UNSJ (Virtual Course) applies a blended learning approach, the course change so that it meets once a month. Learning activities that otherwise would have taken place during classroom time moved online. I am doing a Virtual Course and I think that help me a lot with my responsibility and learn to organize me.

I've just seen all the videos and I really like the second "Homeschool your child for success" because I think homeschool is a good form of education and sometimes it could be better than in a public or private school. In my opinion the homeschool education is far superior to what is offered in the public school because prepare children for the real world and they have more freedom to express themselves. Another thing that I like about homeschool is that children are not exposed to bullies and things like that, and for that reasons i choose the second video.

DeleteI really like the third video "what is blended learnig", because I think it is a different way of see things.. I think that this learning has more interaction, and is not traditional and structured like others, is something new that should make known a little more, because it may change and facilitate education. The other video that I like is the last, because I believe that nowadays technology has become an important and essential tool, and in the future may replace and do the work of people .. It is something that we should know because it is a great help when are working. Honestly I liked both, learning is something that everyone needs and is good that you share this with us.

DeleteHello everybody! Well I really think that the best video is four! I think that will be great that in the near future we can share experience and learn with and of people of other country, like learn other cultures or laguages, I imagine that interact with people who offer a different way of education would be great! This allow us be more conected with the world and be more near each other like a city. I like the third too, I believe that is a way of education very useful. All of this is thank to technology, I think that is very important that all schools have some computers and access to the web. For example in the first year of my school, we have a subjet in which we learn basics thing about how use the computer, which I consider very important because now in almost jobs ask for knowledge about computers, I only expected for my school that one day it can get the level of interaction to prepare us for the future as shown the last video.

DeleteHello everybody! I hope you are well! I like the second and the fourth video! However, I`m going to write about “Distance learning in a classroom". I have to say that the video I like most is the fourth! Nowadays, technology is very useful for job, the school the university. It improves the commnunication between us and we can have contact with people who live in anothe place. Is very important to use technology to share knowledges, learn different things. In lots of places it is used for communicate to the others, give information... For example at the university, I use it to look for grades, syllabus. I can also chat with my partners and ask them if I don`t know waht we have to do. Actually, teachers use technology more than lots of years ago! For the students, is a practical way to have a good realtionship with teachers. This blog is a very good example of that! However, I think that in the future we are going to become "addicted" and we are going to do all using technology. We don`t have to stop using our brains!

I`m really happy about that, because I can develop my abilities and I when I do something I feel sure. I have the most beautiful memories of the school and I hope the university prepares me for the future, for example, with my job. Hello everybody!!!!First of all teacher, I am verry sorry because I had to take exams so I didnt enought time to comment the blog. Second I really like the last video!! I think that tecnology is very important to education because provides a lots of tools, so you can interact with other people from different countries and learn about their culture, lifestyle and habbits. And with these you can incorporate knowledges easier than people who have to read books to learn about some topic. For example,as you may know,I go to college and in Biology we have to use projectors to expose images and videos and with these we can undertand how happen different important processes. Another advantage of using technology is students can learn to use technology since they are childs and probably they have a visual stimulation more developed so that makes them worry about learning every day more... I hope you like what I have written! Bye!!!
